Sacred Stillness
In nature we see cycles of growth and expansion followed by cycles of rest and reset. The generative and productive seasons of Spring and Summer are followed by harvest and a fallow period of rest in Fall and Winter. There are seasons of spiraling outward in our work in the world, followed by spiraling inward to nurture, restore and reset. We see these cycles in solar cycles, meteorologically in the four seasons, astronomically in how we measure time between the solstices and equinoxes and through the Wheel of the Year. We also see them in lunar cycles as the moon waxes and wanes, reminding us that there is a time for expansion and a time for withdrawing.
Modern time gives us a cadence as well, as we measure our lives in days, weeks and years. There is power and great restorative benefit in taking time at the beginning of a cycle to reflect and reset and to set intention for the next cycle, however short or long that cycle may be.
Sacred Stillness is a bi-weekly contemplative practice where we gather in circle to hold space for this reset. Beginning with a reading, poem or song as a focal point, we will ground into stillness with a simple breath practice and silent meditation, followed by an opportunity for sharing our intention for the week ahead.
We meet online at 7:00 pm CST, bi-weekly beginning September 21, 2025. Suggested Donation: $10
